Peace Anyiam-Osigwe, previously called Peace Anyiam-Fiberesima was born on March 30, she is a Nigerian filmmaker and entertainment executive who has been called “the queen of Nollywood films”.

She is the creator of the widely respected African Movie Academy Awards. She was a trailblazer in introducing Nollywood movies to foreign film festivals, according to The Guardian. She was the one behind the camera for P-debut Square’s music video.

She received a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic award from the Nigerian government in 2012 for her work in the entertainment sector. She is a fellow of TED.

Early Life and Education

Peace Anyiam-Osigwe was born on March 30. She is from the notable Osigwe Anyiam-Osigwe family in Nkwerre, Imo State. 

She is the only girl in a family of eight children. She graduated with a double major in political science and law from Oxford Brookes University.

The then-president Olusegun Obasanjo awarded her mother, Dorothy Chinyere Anyiam-Osigwe, the Officer of the Order of the Niger honor for her humanitarian work in Nigeria. She and her husband are no longer married.
