Early Life
Ide Owodiong Idemeko is from Akwa Ibom state, South-South Nigeria. He was born on 11 June 1968 in Athens, Ohio, United States of America, to Dr. Okon Owodiong-Idemeko and (Mrs) Ako Angela Owodiong-Idemeko.
Ide Owodiong-Idemeko Career
Ide Owodiong-Idemeko has three decades of experience in human resource management.
In October 1991, Ide joined Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited, the second-largest producing affiliate of ExxonMobil worldwide, as Personnel Coordinator.
Over a period of thirty years, he has worked for the company in Nigeria, Europe, Middle East, and the United States.
Ide’s first managerial assignment with Mobile was in 2002 at the age of 34. In 2012 Ide became the first Nigerian to occupy the position of Manager, Staffing and Development in ExxonMobil Nigeria Affiliate and in 2019, the first to occupy his current role as Senior Manager, Security External Relations.
He is responsible for executing company strategy for external interface with government officials and senior commanders of Nigeria’s government security agencies.
Education
After primary and secondary education in Lagos, Ide Owodiong-Idemeko became a pioneer graduate of the University of Cross River State (now University of Uyo), Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
He was an active student leader and held several offices during his time at the university.
He holds a Bachelor in Political Science and Public Administration (1987), as well as a Master of Science MSc degree in Comparative Politics (1991) from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria.
