The son of Elder Chief Joseph Umahi Nweze of Umunaga village, Uburu autonomous community, Ohaozara Local Government Area, Ebonyi State, is Engr. David Nweze Umahi. His birthday is January 1st, 1964.
David Nweze Umahi (born July 25, 1964) better known as Dave Umahi is a Nigerian politician who is currently serving as the governor of Ebonyi state.
Early Life and Education
At birth on July 25, 1964, Umahi. He is the son of Margaret Umahi and Elder Joseph Umahi Nwaze, Uburu in the former Ohaozara Local Government Area and present-day Ebonyi State.
Ishiagu High School and the Government Secondary School of Afikpo served as Umahi’s secondary schools before he enrolled in the Enugu State University of Science and Technology in 1982.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the university in 1987.
In 1990, he co-founded Norman Engineering and Construction Nig. Limited with Ombo Isokarari and served as its general manager until 1993.
Until 2011, he served as chairman and CEO of Brass Engineering & Construction Nig. Ltd.,[citation needed] Focus Investment Nig. Ltd., and Osborn La Palm Royal Resort Ltd.
He is from a home of nine comprising two females and seven males, including Major-General Obi Abel Umahi (Rtd.),
the former chairman of the South-East Security Committee, Ebubeagu but resigned in May 2021.

After completing his National Youth Youth Service, Engineer Dave Umahi began working for the Israeli water engineering firm SCC Nig. Ltd.
He was hired there as a project engineer. Later, he joined NORMAN ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION NIG. LIMITED, a business he co-founded with Dr. Ombo Isokarari, the former managing director of NAFCON.
Along with these respected businesses, he also collaborated with or started others, including: (a) Brass Engineering & Construction Nig Ltd. (b) Fucus Investment Nig Ltd. (c) Osborn La Palm Royal Resort Ltd.
Between 2007 and 2009, Dave entered politics and rose to the position of acting chairman of the PDP’s Ebonyi State branch. Later, in 2009, he was chosen to serve as the PDP’s substantive State Chairman, a position he maintained until 2011.
He presided over the Governing Board of the Federal Medical Centre in Asaba between 2010 and 2011.
In the year 2011, Dave teamed-up with Chief Martin Martin Elechi, as running mate, and they contested for the position of the governor of Ebonyi State.
Dave Umahi became the Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State following their success in the gubernatorial election of Ebonyi State and was sworn in on 29th May 2011 for a term of four years ending in 2015.
On April 11, 2015, Engr. Dave Umahi contested for and won election as the governor of Ebonyi State.
